Welcome to your CCW training course. My name is Brian Stephen, your strategic defense instructor. I am a California, Placer County certified CCW instructor, USCCA certified instructor and a Law Enforcement Simulator Master Instructor.
Included with your mandated CCW training you will experience a unique reality-based force on force training in a state-of-the-art virtual training simulator, which will provide you the most realistic training experience possible.
Reality based training is designed to test and evaluate how students deal with rapid information processing and decision making, while performing complex motor skills under stress.
By continuing your training with BDS Technology you will apply the skills learned in class through emotionally charged scenarios, for a dynamic realistic idea of how to survive a violent encounter and its aftermath.
Courses and schedule will be available at your upcoming class.
Upon completion of course and handgun qualification, student will receive 4 or 8-hour CCW certificate of completion and weapon qualification form

Defensive Handgun Class I

Course length: 2 days
Defensive Handgun is intended for anyone who has little or no experience using a handgun in a self – defense manner. The course will set the foundation for future courses and focus on safe handling and efficient operation of semi- automatics and revolvers. Students will learn proper drawing and presenting techniques from cover as well as fundamental techniques for deploying the handgun in defense of self or others. Students will learn physiological and psychological effects of a violent encounter including real life scenario -based training and evaluation.

- Handgun and ammo selection
- Concealment holsters (IWB, OWB)
- Concealment clothing
- Fundamentals of marksmanship
- Effects of stress on the body

Defensive Handgun Class II

Description:
Defensive Handgun is intended for those who have completed Defensive Handgun 1 and have completion certificate. This course is more in depth building off skills learned in Defensive Handgun 1 with focus on movement, rapid decision making focused target acquisition. The science behind shooting: proper body mechanics, proprioception, kinesthetic alignment, isometric and isotonic application applied to firearm. Focus on deliberate practice and breaking down the fundamentals of marksmanship as they apply to self -defense.
Course instruction topics include:
- Safety in everyday life, situational awareness
- Drawing from Concealment (IWB, OWB)
- Pre-assault indicators
- Threat anatomy
- Support and primary hand only shooting
- Tactical and emergency reloads
- Malfunctions clearing (immediate and remedial)
- Shooting positions
- Movement while shooting

- Managing compliant threats
- Retention shooting
- Fighting for gun , close weapon management

Building off of Rifle 1 Rifle 2 continues with a more in depth deliberate practice of rifle fundamentals for quick target acquisition and weapon manipulation. Multiple threats. Moving to and from cover/concealment. Two man moving and communication. Proper mindset. Evaluating and auditing individuals skill sets.

MRDS Handgun Course

Youth Firearms Education-Simulator Training

Your child will be safely introduced to firearms, their history and origin.
Safety rules of firearms and don’t touch firearms, alert an adult mentality
Types of handguns and rifles and how to properly take care of them.
Fun drills in the simulator where they will get a real feel of how firearms operate as they shoot balloon animals to zombies (age appropriate).
Youth will enjoy marksmanship fundamentals and proper body mechanics to safely fire a rifle and pistol.
